hi dudes, I want to change my boring black and white login screen. so i found some tutorials on the net and tried to figure it out. but it all rounded down to this:

everywhere it says i need to go to System->Admin-> login Window

but i havent got that! all i have is this login screen. at first I thought "bah! close enough!"
but when i open it, it gives me a window but the only options are to make me login automatic after 30 seconds.

some statistics are: i have ubuntu 9.10 and i have gdm(gnome display manager) installed and splash screen ( i have no idea how to run gdm thuogh).

I'd like to know 2 things

how do i get this "login window" doh-icky thingamabob and how do i open gdm so i get play around with its settings?

dont hold me on this but i think ubuntu changed the login in system in ubuntu 9.10 meaning that any themes before that was made before 9.10 isnt going to work....i think.

so in short i think your stuck with the the default theme. let me search around to make sure

Edit:seems that you can change somethings
