Ok, I am CONFUSED...
Admittedly, I am a newbie, but NOT THAT NEW.
I have a PC clone that functionally runs under WINDOZ. All ports are operational.
Everything functions under XUBUNTU INCLUDING the floppy drive.

With UBUNTU loaded, the dive is inop. Is there some other trick I am supposed to use?
If I click on places and select the "floppy drive icon, the drive light comes on, the disk rotates a moment, and then stops. Drive access light turns off.

Has anyone seen this situation before?

Thank you for your time.

I am a nubee also and have the same problem.

My floppy drive worked good with previous versions of Ubuntu. But since I have upgraded to 9.10, it has stopped working.

It appears from what I have read by doing a Google search, others are having the same problem and are not getting this resolved.

It seems that the developers do not think that this is a real problem since the days of the old floppy disk usage is fading into the past. However, I am sure there is someone with an easy fix for this.

If I don't get a solution in the next couple of days, I will be forced switch back to the older version that did work.

Hey guys we need Help!!!!!

Thanks in advance for any help you can give us..
