Hello All

ASUS EeePC 1000 (10.4 inch screen, Ubuntu 9.10) SSD storage and 6600 mAh battery, a good 5.5 hours on wifi with middle screen brightness. Drops 45 minutes or so when running the t-mobile web and walk modem. This machine is about 15 months old. I'm in the browser mostly but with some openoffice use. No video or music!

IBM Thinkpad T42, 14.4 inch screen, 40Gb hard drive, on wifi, about 2.5 hours. Running 9.10 and just added 10.4 alpha 2. Similar use pattern to above. Fan hardly comes on. I got this machine off the well known auction site for not much money. It is about 4 to 5 years old (centrino 1.7MHz, 64Mb ati video, 1Gb ram)

When I used XP I was lucky if I got 1.5 hours and in W7 2.5 hours.

Dell Studio 1535, 3 hours in both Ubuntu and Windows 7. I'm currently deciding whether to get a ULV Laptop for longer battery life or getting a laptop that is balanced between the two.

Hmm. I'm planning on buying a 6-cell battery for my lappy.
It has a 15.4 inch screen, and almost never runs on battery. Without powersaving mode, around 2 hours, and with powersaving mode, around 2.75 to 3.

I'll be lucky to get 45 minutes on my VAIO. It's a little over two years old. A netbook will likely be my next tech purchase.

I just got a Compaq mini 1100, battery life seems to be between 2.5 to 3 hours, running Karmic with the netbook addons.

not even a second, I downloaded a battery refurbisher livecd, just haven't burned it yet.

Its never gotten more than 10 minutes, I would just like to get it to be able to move from place to place without shut down

Now I'm interested. What exactly does that do?

Aspire One AOA-150 ~7-11 hrs (wifi on, amarok playing, firefox surfing ~7 hrs continuous use) Usually I get a few days between charges.

with a 9 cell 7800mah battery which puts it at a nice angle for typing.
Running kuki 2.8. 2.6.31rc9 kernel, XFCE, everything working OOB.

Aspire One AOD150 - Windows 7 Professional, around 6-6.5 hours with browsing and email, roughly 5 hours if Pandora is running full-time in Chrome, 5.5 hours with Winamp only running.
