I've posted about this problem once previously: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1383725
Unfortunately, after not coming to a resolution previously, I reinstalled Ubuntu 9.10 and I've again encountered the problem.
Since I reinstalled Ubuntu, I've not installed any of the suggested updates. A short time ago I installed a program via Synaptic Package Manager, though just it and dependencies and none of the other suggested updates as far as I know.
I noticed CPU usage at about 100% (inexplicably) and bookmarks had mysteriously disappeared from within the File Browser, so figured I'd restart to try to resolve the issue.
After restarting, I encountered the basic login screen I'd seen before with a warning in the upper right saying: "Install Problem! The configuration defaults for GNOME Power Manager have not been install correctly. Please contact your computer administrator."
Can anyone shed some light onto how to fix this?
