We just want to show our support of this community and these forums and the people who have been providing the severs, bandwidth, upkeep and yes even the Administrators and moderators. All of your hard work has made Ubuntu a great pleasure to use. I am more than happy to contribute to the forums financially as the bandwidth limits needs continue to grow and have just done so today to show my support.

Let all of us use this thread to express our appreciation to these forums and it's staff. If you have the means please help support these forums by making a contribution.

(Edited to show group support not just mine.)

Wonder if this is because of TechSonics thread being Dugg? A few thousand people must have viewed the pages of that particular thread?

Anyway, this forum rocks, and a big thankyou to everyone involved!

Keep up the good work guys!

That probably contributed some "this" month. But overall, i'd say no.

I'm on alot of forums. Not just tech forums. I'm on one for harm reduction for drug use and know of 8 people who've gone from Win to Ubuntu in the last month alone.

On an automotive board, i know of 6. In person, i know of 4. Ubuntu is getting ALOT of press too. I honestly don't think i've seen a distro grow so rapidly and attract so many windows users (for better or worse.. and im one of them) ever.

A great deal of anti-DRM/TCPA/MS sites are promoting Ubuntu as a linux distro for people to start on to get away from that type of stuff.

Red Hat created quite a buzz back in the day (99-00), but i don't even think it compares to what i'm noticing now.

Do they offer prepaid credit cards in Holland? That could be a great option as it is not linked to your bank account and it will only have as much money as you load onto it.

Hmm don't think I've ever heard of it. I'll check it out or just ask one of my friends to make a donation in my name. Anyhow I'd really like to contribute.

Can anyone link me direct to the thing?
If I try and donate from Konqueror, I can login, then when I click "no postal address required" it tells me I must login to see this page.

Yeah, you really have to worry about people who don't look at p0rn. They're probably closet sickos or something.

I've got this problem...with using a credit card since i dont have one. This has really limited me to not being able to get a web domain that i wanted...but now i can't even donate to ubuntu forums. Is there a way i can send in money by mail? Godaddy doesn't let me send it in by mail. :(

You would have to ask the mods about that one. I don't think they are accepting checks or money orders though.

If you have any kind of bank account you can open a paypal account, deposit some cash in there, and do all your online transactions from there, most of them anyway.

I just dontated 5 bucks (poor college kid). One question though, what are the odds of the forum limiting users, etc. because of lack of funds? If so I can do my best to donte more. This is the first open source project I have donated to. I have used linux for about 10 years now, and am very impressed by Ubuntu.
