I have decided to try Ubuntu again and don't know which to use. 9.10 or 8.04? I have a 64-bit processor, so should I get a 64-bit version, or will I get problems. Also, what file system.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place :P

I agree with hhlp. A lot of people seem to hate it, but I think 9.10 Karmic is the best release up to now.

64-bit 9.10 (the current release) is a good safe choice, unless you have a special reason for choosing a different version?

go with karmic 9.10 64bit version. Also use ext4 for the filesystem.
