Ubuntu on PS3 Problems! Need help!

I've installed Ubuntu on my PS3 system, and when I play a DVD video using VLC the video is striped with green vertical bars. Naturally, i can't watch it like this, so I also tried Movie Player, which frezzes up alot, so then I tried Kaffine, which failed to work at all! Every video player I know is useless when it comes to playing some DVDs on my PS3, (I say some because others work fine, and no, there's nothing wrong with the DVDs thereselves) if this happened to you too, can you please tell me what to do?

I understand ps3 to be a PPC install. this thread should go in the PPC part of the forum. Keeping your bean count at 0 is pointless; just as is other people trying to raise their bean count w/o doing anything. Both are opposites but have the same idea driving them.

The PS3 install of Linux is Yellow Dog Linux right? Shouldn't this be in their forum?

You can probably install nearly any powerpc based linux on Ps3

I did a PS3 install, without video drivers, of which Sony is being very stingy with(unless something has changed recently) then nothing multimedia works worth a damn anyway, even with the proper kernel.

My experiment lasted less than 72 hours, and I threw in the towel.
