Well kubuntu is what your looking for if you want KDE, though you can install it in Ubuntu as well.

Do this in a terminal..............

sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop

Enter this code into terminal

sudo apptitude install kubuntu-desktop

Then on reboot at once you select your user name before you enter your password you will have the option at the bottom of the login screen to choose either a gnome or kde session.

Personally i don't recommend installing ubuntu then kde.

Get Kubuntu directly and install it fresh.

I am now on ubuntu and previously i tried installing kde and it install tons of additional softwares for kde on my ubuntu. This puts me off and i re install ubuntu.

I'm not saying kde is not good infact i like it but the fact that i have ubuntu programs and kde programs installed on my comp when i barely use any of it is such a clutter and waste of disk space.
