reading manual, there is a trakker tool but I am unable to find it in 9.1.

If you mean the search tool, that will look for file name and contents, it is in the repos as tracker and tracker-search-tool. Install both then go to System ->Preferences ->Search and Indexing to set it up the way you want it.

I was just reading about it in the pocket guide. Is it something better than the file find in Nautilist?

I think so, yes. It used to take quite a lot of resources when it first appeared in place of beagle, but now seems very good, and very useful at finding words within any of your Openoffice docs or spreadsheets, and most other files, as well as finding file names, of course.
