Trying to subscribe to the Planet Ubuntu feed, I get the message "http://planet.ubuntu.com/rss20.xml is not a valid RSS feed."

I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird on Windows XP.

Anyone else have this problem?

I haven't tried it on a Windows computer. My RSS reader on Gdesklets pulls it off just fine.

I just tried it out, no problems here.

I get the same error on Xubuntu 6.10 running Mozilla Thunderbird, it must be something in Thunderbird, not with the feed.

It seems the link to that feed is dead but "http://planet.ubuntu.com/rss10.xml" works. That is almost entirely text though. I went to the website and found a different link, "http://planet.ubuntulinux.org/rss20.xml". I just added it a few seconds ago and it hasn't pulled anything in yet. Let me know if this works for you. Using Hardy with Thunderbird 2.0.0.16

This is an old thread, but the problem persists - it seems to be intermittent, sometimes working and sometimes not working.

I have http://planet.ubuntu.com/rss20.xml which works in some applications, but Thunderbird just says "Verifying the feed... " for ever.

Yep works fine here - thanks for the link :)

Try a different rss reader if the one you're using is been problematic with feeds - many to choose from :)
