store files on boot usb

i burned iso boot image to a usb drive, when installing ubuntu can I store other files (word docs, ect) on the same usb?

Yes, as long as you don't rename or move any of the files/folders from the install files, you can copy and use what ever you want in the free space on the stick/drive.
