Hey,

Ok so in my pc I have two 9800GTX+ running in SLI. When I activate the restricted hardware drivers in ubuntu, and then reboot...the X server fails to start.

I'm using Ubuntu 9.10, could someone give me a step by step process to successfully install the necessary drivers etc to get my graphic cards working.

Thanks.

Ok.First let me say my hardware is nothing like yours(much older). What i did was go to ubuntu geek, then searched nvidia. Then installed the 195 drivers as they said. This brought me from non display to pretty decent graphics.Good luck, i am sure there are more "official" ways to fix this but i am a simple guy.

Asking in the right place helps ;) Try General Support.

First of all, I'd suggest posting this in an appropriate forum. Like this one (http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=326). Or maybe this one (http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=334).

Secondly, the participants of the Ubuntu forums are other Ubuntu users (along with some folks who use other OSes). They aren't here as unpaid customer service.
