I am a Linux noob and have very little experience in programming, but have the same issue, with a twist...... my Windows XP wont load either. On the start screen I get the dreaded blue screen of death.

Ive been reading thru all the "fixes" suggested, but most is written in code wayyyyy over my head. I can start Ubuntu and get the to sh:grub, so tomorrow I am going to try to type in the line code that has been suggested on other forum topics.

Anything else I can try or do? Alot of the conversation here I dont understand, but right now I have a dead puter with 5 years worth of data and pictures on it, that I cant do a thing with.

Would appreciate any help.
