One year ago or so I drawed a template in Photoshop CS2...tried to slice it and code it but when trying to put it back to form a webpage everyone could see the slices I've made...even if they fitted perfectly anyone could see obviously that I cutted the webpage. Now I want to retry and code it but what program could I use to manage my old psd template and how could I code it so everything could fit perfectly. If you have some guides please post them, thanks so much for everything.

I work local...do not have a server yet. Could you please give me some tips about how to code a .psd in linux so that it would display right, regardless of resolution? Thank you

have you tried using CSS? I tend to use -px when stuff like that happens.

Don't create websites using photoshops/gimps image slicer and HTML generator. They both generate table based layouts which are a very bad way to do things. Instead learn to create layouts using CSS, then incorporate image slices where appropriate. With CSS you can normally get rid of most background images.
