I just splattered about 250ml of cyan ink onto the carpet.
Whats the best way to get it off?
As far as im concerned, this stuff is pretty permanant.... on skin.... and the carpet....

Ink is actually way harder to clean up than toner. I remember that time someone at work accidentally dropped a toner cartridge....
and we just vaccumed it.

I doubt anything but an instant treatment of a steam carpet cleaning machine can do anything.

it looks like ubuntu forums turned into yahoo answers lol. Who knows maybe because now yahoo pays canonical for their switch to yahoo search. back to your question, probably acetone or windex may do the job.

That's a pretty serious matter. You may need to get a new carpet, because any chemicals capable of getting ink out will either damage the carpet fibers or, at least, take ALL the color out of it.

However, if the carpet is white, bleach will do.

ooh... thats not good... :(
i put that carpet in myself a few months ago in the den cause i didnt like the feel of concrete under my feet :D

Good thing I didnt throw out the blueprints. (the carpet is actually sectioned), but finding the original carpet seller is going to be difficult as I dont seem to remember where I put those records...

any other ideas?

I would talk to a professional cleaner or a Carpet Store . Are you Insured?

If you have some remnant left from when you installed the carpet, then perhaps the thing to try last would be to cut out the ink stain, and fit in a patch; you'll need some carpet tape, some remnant, and a carpet knife.
