View Full Version : [kubuntu] How to get unix-style cut and paste?

How do I get reliable unix-style cut and paste with the mouse on Kubuntu? Namely that text highlighted while pressing the left mouse button could be copied to anywhere with a click on the middle button, even if the highlighting is already gone. On my old Fedora 4 this was a breeze, but on Kubuntu 9.04 it is pretty unreliable. Copying tends to fail from time to time even if the text is still highlighted, and most of the time when the highlight is gone.

I suspect the design principle on Kubuntu is that the highlighted text would end up on the clipboard, which however does not happen in my case for some reason.

By the way, I typically copy within and between the following programs - Firefox, xterm (both the command line and files displayed with 'less'), xemacs, nano...
