Hi all! New Ubuntu user!

Everything looks good with the OS so far. The only problem I have is that MIDIs don't work that well. Specifically, no matter what player I use, some of the MIDI channels don't play. For example, in one file the background of a song won't play, and in another file the lead melody won't play. I've tried TiMidity but it makes no difference. I get several of this error:

"No instrument mapped to tone bank 0"

I downloaded the recommended MIDI plugins from Totem when I first installed Ubuntu.

Have you installed Ubuntu Restricted Extras in Synaptic. Also, install the packages recommended at Medibuntu (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu)

That might help.

No Dice. I'm starting to think that either my sound card is not a great match for Ubuntu, or maybe it's just a random glitch.
