I have previously installed several releases of Ubuntu from version 6 on, without any troubles. With 9.10 the installation was OK until the update manger started running. At some point it was asking did I want to replace GRUB, and truthfully, I got confused and I'm not sure what I replied. But that was the end of the install! Totally locked up. I completely repeated the installation and the second time when the update manager started there was an immediate total lock-up. After that, I could not boot Ubuntu at all, the screen just went dead. I have temporarily installed another Linux distro without any problems. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks!
