When I try to install Ubuntu 9.04 my screen goes pink and starts flashing. What can I do?

At what point does this happen? straight away when you hit enter to install?

Correct, after I hit enter to install the loading bar pops up for a little bit, gets about half full then pink screen of death. I have to hold the power button to restart.

What happens when you run the live cd?

When I run the live cd it does the same thing. Except actually loads to a part where I can see a menu bar at the top and then locks up.
