Someone went through the effort of creating a video, with NO understanding of what traceroute (okay, 'tracert' in Windows) does...

What does traceroute (or tracert) do?
It hops over nodes to the destination, telling you how much time it took in between each node. It's very useful in Administration. If office A doesn't connect to office B, I can run a tracert and see where it halts.

Traceroute just "trace the route", and this is not connection speed at all,
it shows you the hops between you and your destination if reacheable, and resolve hops names.

beware of the Ping of Dead, LOL!!!
