Running kubuntu karmic. Geforce 9800GT graphics card. About a second after login plasma crashes. Tried restarting plasma but it just crashes again.
No error message appears after the crash. I'm left with just a blank screen. I can still start apps with alt-F2, still navigate folders with dolphin, still access system settings. I just have no interface.
I've tried installing the latest NVIDIA driver, doing a complete removal and reinstallation of KDE, even tried installing from backports, but to no effect.
Thankfuly I've got LXDE as a backup desktop environment, but not being able to use KDE is getting rather frustrating...
