Hi,
I recently installed Ubuntu Server 8.04 on an infiniband equipped cluster which we use for running scientific applications. The nodes mount the home directories over gigabit and NFS hosted on a Sun Fire X4150 server. Attached to the server is a StorageTek 2530 via SAS.
The problem we are facing is that the server freezes every few days. The keyboard stops responding, display is blank and network is down. Following a hard reset, there is no information in the log files. Did not find anything critical in the hardware logs either.
We faced the same problem with CentOS which was installed previously on the server. I had hoped that the problem would go away after installing Ubuntu but it happened again without any clues to what the cause is.
thanks
