Cannot Install - LOGIN ????

Im trying to install 9.10 onto an HP Pavillion a1610n and using both the disc and USB after I select Install Ubuntu or Try Ubuntu it goes directly to a login screen. I hit enter on both treid a few things ..Why is it askin for user and pass if not installed .. HELP ??

I got it to work with a different install CD .. man 9.10 install is tricky. A Install CD works on 1 computer and is a no-go on another, same w/ USB pen drive
