Issues Reinstalling Karmic/Jaunty

Initial problem description/actions here:

Summary:

- Reinstalled Karmic to a Linux-only computer after a software issue after upgrading

- After installing from USB drive, would go to a prompt, not a desktop environment

- Tried reinstalling from USB drive - didn't work. Tried installing Jaunty distro - didn't work

Thoughts?

Went back and reformatted the USB drive and tried reinstalling 9.10 - that didn't go well - just got the Unetbootin screen, couldn't do anything from that screen

Using the same ISO, and same USB drive, created the USB boot drive using a different program.

Works just dandy (now).
