Good morning all, I have a question about package storage for KDE apps do the downloaded packages reside in var/cache/apt or another folder.
Thank you

Yep,they all go to the same place.
Assuming you mean KDE apps pulled in from the package manager

Yes I do, why is it when I grab the KDE packages on a flashdrive and transfer them to another computer then install say... K3b that it downloads more packages?
Thank you

it probably means that the required versions of some dependencies of your KDE apps have been not met, so its downloading a few more...so, it maybe the same packages version you copied, but not the same version state of other packages installed in the other system,,,;)

It could also be a different architecture (ie 32bit lib on a 64 bit system)

That makes sense, it usually is more than a week between when I copy packages and when I actually use them on another rig.
Thank you konqueror7 and SuperSonic4 for your replies.
