that uses apturl to provide a web interface to software installation? I can't seem to find it any more:(

Actually if a web site is using apt: links, (without any extra downloads or repositorys/ppa's), there is almost no security risk. Because everything is coming from the Ubuntu repo's anyway.

But to the op, Im not sure what the site is.

Incase you missed it inbetween all the jokes, i'm fairly sure this IS the site your looking for *waves hand*

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas is similar but offers "minirepos" instead of pacakges

I'm quite irritated by the changes Getdeb has undergone. I use 8.04 on my main machine, and the new Getdeb doesn't play with Hardy. I know I can use old.getdeb.net to get packages for Hardy. But, as it says on the Getdeb front page (http://www.getdeb.net/welcome/):



We no longer provide updates for applications prior to Ubuntu 9.04


So what's their problem? Why can't they continue to service 8.04 while it still has official support?
