Hi,
I have a netbook with a hidden partition that has the XP restore on it. I installed Ubuntu on the netbook over top XP ( not the restore ). Well I now want to remove ubuntu completely and go back to XP ( hopefully using the restore ). However after searching on this forum and googling I can't find anything. Most of the answers are for people that are dual booting with XP but I don't want that. Also , my situation is little different because I don't have an optical drive that I can just insert a XP CD into. I suppose I could somehow put XP onto a USB key but I'm wondering if there is an easier way.
I'm guessing I can't see the restore when I boot because Ubuntu has changed the MBR and that is no longer there ?

Any suggestions would be great !

Thanks
Jason

simple thing to do is to google "how to repair XP from repair partition"
or something along those lines.
You dont need to remove ubuntu - you can format the partition beforehand but that will be of no extra benefit for you. Just boot into the repair partition i guess...
