Hello, today I decided to try out ubuntu on my spare laptop. I am a windows user but am interested in becoming familiar with linux/ubuntu. I am set up to dual boot ubuntu 9.10 along with windows xp currently. Everything with the install went fine but now I have run into a problem.

I figured out that installing programs is a little different than in windows and found the Ubuntu Software Center. The problem is I do not even have the option to install with the software center. There is no button to hit that says "install". I tried with multiple programs. This is what my screen looks like:

Like I said, I am brand new to ubuntu and would much appreciate any help that anyone can offer. Thanks.

it seems you need medibuntu (http://www.medibuntu.org/).
