Behold! It has finally come! iTunes 6 and Quicktime 7 officialy run natively on Linux! No "WINE" or other emulation wahoo is needed anymore! Apple has released the closed beta and I was one of the lucky ones to take part in it. :D

I know, I know, this news may be shocking to you, but this is for real, trust me. ;)

In fact, I have the installation files in my home folder. I can show you a screenshot of the file in my file manager. :D

You could have done a little better of a job with the photoshoping.

Eg the screen changer and the bar buttons

definitly a fake.
The bar buttons have the wrong text. As far as I know the display always the window title which is in your case 'Apple Quicktime' and not 'Quicktime 7 for Linux'

Because 'photoshop' has become a verb, just as google has. If an image has been digitally manipulated, it's often said that it's been photoshopped. It makes no difference what program was actually used.

I am a real sucker then... I actually believed it might be true, hehe..
But one thing didn't convince me, the shininess of the apple apps. They just were too off from the default GTK.

And the font in the panel was off too.

If Apple were to release these apps, would they have to port to GTK?

Don't bet on it. Apple's known for its shiny-looking products, and I don't think GTK is shiny enough for them. They'd probably go with QT.

What a lousy thread. With all the misinformation floating around about Linux pros and cons, i must admit that i find this tiring and childish..

You could have used that time looking to answer someone in the beginner section.

I choose to use my time to be happy!

Since I'm not being payed by anyone to do this, I'll take as long as I like to enjoy doing it, wherever & whenever I want!

By the way, I enjoyed that! :KS

Okay, i can see that my post was a bit snappy and harsh, but i was just growing tired of all the nonsense and the talk about Apple and Microsoft being bad companies delivering purely bad products floating around from some members.

Instead, this thread could have been a debate about open source alternatives to iTunes and Quicktime - a happy one :)
