Hey there. I'm REALLY new at this stuff and am not computer savvy at all, so bear with me please!

I downloaded and installed Ubuntu 9.10 and followed all the install prompts. I selected to have the 2 partitions so I can run XP and Ubuntu. Now, when I re-boot my computer I get a "hardware monitor screan". It tells some power settings, the pc temp etc, and below says "verifying DMI pool data......", and below that "grub loading."

It stays like that for about 30 min, then comes up to the screen where I can select the OS to boot. At this point you should be able to move the selection up or down...I can't move anything. After 5 min it loads Ubuntu.

So, did I make some kind of grave error when i installed? Any thoughts or recommendations? Thanks!

In the BIOS, is legacy USB enabled?

Or do you have a PS/2 Keyboard or laptop?

I'm assuming USB is enabled because those devices work. I hesitate to go to BIOS to check, because that means I have to reboot, and then wait...forever...
