i recently tried to get my multimedia keys working and tinkered with preferences keyboard and keyboard shortcuts, installed some packages and finally got it to work with KeyTouch. Boy was i happy.. but then i realized my 'delete' and 'down arrow' keys not responding anymore.. ofcourse i tried uninstalling KeyTouch.. but that wasn't the trouble.
I remember setting in 'keyboard shortcuts' the delete key to eject cd tray (and maybe also down arrow) and then again disabling a keybind.
so i tried some things like https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Hotkeys/Troubleshooting
at step 3 i get to point a. The keycode IS right, and i already guessed so because i can still use those keys in 'keyboard shortcuts'.
but am puzzled how to go from here, some pointers will be great
