Hi,

If I run live cd directly on my machine it detects my viewsonic monitor and proper resolution fine. As soon as I attempt to install in a vm using virtualbox, it cannot detect display and will only run 800x600 max...

Any ideas how to increase screen resolution? Thanks....This is Ubuntu 9.10

I'm having the same problem with a viewsonic lcd, but with a regular install. Actually, already in 9.04 the system could no longer identify the screen, but at least I could run it at some default setting, though not larger than 1152x864.

Not liking this, I installed 9.10, and now the damned thing doesn't let me go above 800x600! I had to reinstall 9.04 again, I was stupid not to go for 8.10 I guess because then it worked for sure.

I'm also really curious to know how to get around this as it's no longer possible to edit xorg.conf.

Using just an internal graphics card and basic HP hardware, nothing extra. Ubuntu 9.04 i386
