understandable my friend. No competition, mine is primarily so I can listen to my music while at college and on my netbook when I am either at school or at a wifi hotspot without actually having to have all my music on the device. I am just sharing my ever growing collection of Christian music with you guys(and who ever else wishes to listen) :D

JUST LEAVE A SLOT FOR ME TO GET IN THERE AND JAM OUT TOO :D

im having a bit of an issue in using your stream. I tried opening with vlc which is how i play my stream but yours wouldnt open and i heard nothing when i opened with firefox. The clients you have listed on page in url are not installed on my machine (winap, win media player, etc)
What is the preferred method of listening to the stream?

I use Rhythmbox. Haven't used KDE in some time so I have not tried listening to it with Amarok or any other player in there.

But in gnome I use the winamp link(The one that ends in *.pls). I have both copied it and opened up Rhythmbox and gone to the "Radio" section and then push the "Create a new Radio Station" button and add the copied URL there. When you click on the *.pls link in firefox it always seems to try to open it up in Totem(at least on my machine), which that worked for me too. But you can select what you want to open it with via "Open With" and then, if I can remember correctly you can manualy type rhythmbox in but you can also go to /usr/bin/rhythmbox

I have not tried using banshee either.

EDIT:

I just noticed that the link that is displaying in this thread has been truncated by the forums. You will have to right click the link and select "Copy Link Location"(in Firefox) to get the full link to copy into rhythmbox or some other program. And I noticed that I was misspelling Rhythmbox as rhythEmbox

I just tried both streams using Amarok.

oneinch, I used the winamp link(The one that ends in *.pls) and it works fine.

stlsaint, I tried your link and received the below error.

Error Loading Media
No suitable input plugin. This often means that the url's protocol is not supported. Network failures are other possible causes.
http://christbeats.homelinux.org:8010/mof.ogg

I know I have ogg support as I have some of my CDs ripped as ogg and can play them fine. Any suggestions for fixing this?

Thank you both for sharing.

please try process again. I personally use vlc for all media play but it should work in all clients. The protocol is http and its on a vps so full uptime.

Hey oneinch, speaking of your playlist, I was wondering if you had heard of a band called Theocracy. Their latest disc was called Soul Mirror.

I put together a Stellarium presentation when I was studying the planetary conjuction of Jupiter and the Moon in connection with the Star of Bethlehem following Dr Michael Molnar's calculations this past December. I put Bethelehem by Theocracy on it if you want to check it out. They're kind of prog and sound a little like Dream Theater, but much tighter imo.

You may check them out.

stlsaint, I tried your stream again this morning with no alterations and it worked. I don't understand why yesterday it failed and today it works. Anyway, thanks for sharing. I've been listening to it all this morning. Not my normal style of music, but it is good.

I am in class right now but I will most certainly check them out. I am not majoring in music but that doesn't mean that I don't love it. :D But I will look at them for sure.

As i understand it may not be thus i have been wanting to broaden my scope of music since its for a mass public. Maybe the UCE community can help me with this. As you have heard my music may be a bit one sided toward what i know so maybe you guys can give me some artist of different genre for me to add and make more enjoyable for all! :D

I will be honest with you, I haven't really listened to your stream so I have no idea whats on there.

But, one of my favorites is a band called "Trenches"

Oh Sleeper rox also, MyChildren MyBride can rip it up too. Spoken is very good. Hawk Nelson, Canton Jones, John Ruben, A Love for Enemies, A Hill to Die Upon, War of Ages, they are all teh awesomeness. Can't forget flyleaf and skillet. The Classic Crime, I can't think of all that I know right now, there is a band that I want to say but I don't remember their name and its on the tip of my tongue.... Decifer Down! Falling Up is really good too.

I just checked out this band and they are awesome. It has been so long since I have heard some new Christian bands that play the heavier style of music. I've been listening to Bride for years but that's about it. Wow, I am so excited! I am looking forward to checking out the other bands.

okay, I know it has been a while since I have made an update to my stream server. But I have finally gotten off my lazy bum and added some more albums to it!! I have also did a fix or two on it.

Added:

Underoath - They're Only Chasing Saftey
Spoken - Last Chance to Breath
Demon Hunter - Demon Hunter (Their self titled debut album)
Impending Doom - The Serpent Servent.

Fixed:
The meta-tag naming on the "Lost in the Sound of Separation" by Underoath had a character (The o with a slash through it) that wouldn't show up properly. So I changed it to make it uniform to the rest of the Underoath albums on the server.

Check it out :

Cool looks like a good radio show,

You should play some LZ7- this is a really cool track, uplifting urban arrangement of the classic hymn:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_C4XwH7UitU

Heard them because of the Message Trust's 'Shine your Light' campaign that this song is the theme for.

Blessings.
