Hi everyone!
This is my first time installing Ubuntu 9.10 Server from scratch. I've already ran the setup and selected the following packages:
DNS server
Print server
Samba File server
So, I currently have three Windows Vista machines in the network with a small switch that functions as a DHCP server. That's it. There's no domain right now.
Initially, I would like to setup the server to be a Domain Controller and add the Vista boxes to this domain. Also, provide file/print services for the Vista boxes.
My problem is I have no idea what comes first. Do I setup DNS first? Do I disable DHCP at the switch and set it up in the Ubuntu server? Do I setup Samba first?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
