Hello,
I've a problem installing postgresql on ubuntu. I did install the postgresql package (synaptic shows it installed, version 8.4.2-0ubuntu9.10) and the postgresql-client-8.4 package.
Now, the 'psql' command (which is the client) works on commandline (but can't find a server, which is correct of course), but neither 'postgres' nor 'postgresql' can be found ("command not found"). As far as I know, I need 'postgres' to be able to start a database server.
I looked at other packages, but I don't seem to be missing a postgresql related package. Has anybody a suggestion?
