Hi guys,

for a social project, I created a special ubuntu spinoff (very minimal with lxde). I used remastersys to get a live/install cd.
Since this has been working out so well, i would like to continue my work and make it available to the general public.
my question: how do i create an ubuntu based distribution "properly"? do i have to use casper and ubiquity?
can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Great idea, but I wonder if you are aware of Lubuntu (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu), which is soon, I think, to be taken under the canonical umbrella of the Ubuntu varieties, and added to those already available.

I also believe that Lubuntu devs are always on the look out for someone to join the team ...

The info on Lubuntu can be found here --> http://lubuntu.net/

Phill.

I am well aware of that, but Im still interested in building my own. Even if it were based on Lubuntu, the question remains.
