Me to Epson support:
Comments: Hi, I am aware that Epson does not support my DX4400 under Linux. At age 63 I have no career aspirations but rather than purchase a Hewlett Packard (their range is adequately supported), I would consider it an achievement if I could with your assistance, write a driver myself. Should you be willing to help with the necessary data and information, which would be held in total confidence, the resulting driver would NOT be for distribution, and I would accept total responsibility for any damage I might inflict on my printer :-) Best regards, etc.

Epsons reply:
Thank you for contacting EPSON e-mail support.
In reply to your email, Epson do supply a link to third party site which offers a Linux driver, please note we do not support or have information regarding the Linux site or drivers. The only Operating Systems, which EPSON supports, are Microsoft Windows or Apple Macintosh.
