Hi,

after installing some KDE applications I need I found some websites, Facebook and Windows Live Mail among them shows HORRIBLE, don't know why.

I tried to remove any trace of KDE as well as refreshing the font cache but there was no luck. The websites shows pretty bad in any browser name it Epiphany, Chromium, Firefox, Opera, all of them at the latest versions. Previously to installing KDE framework websites displayed correctly in every browser.

Any idea on how to solve this? I can't really think about installing Ubuntu again, please God no. All the settings, the tweaks, preferences, no, no, NO!

Running KK updated on a 64-bit system

Could you possibly post a screenshot, so I can see what you're talking about?

Hi and thanks for your time and kind support.

This is how actually Hotmail is displayed (ugly and wrong, watch out the fonts):

This is how it's supposed to show same page (this is a snapshot from a VMwared clean install of KK):

Another snapshot, look the ugly uneasy to read fonts:

I presume there's a conflict with fonts association and I already deactivated 'ugly' fonts from my system but still get websites rendered like this.

By the way, sorry for the bad english.

Still it violates Ubuntu Forums Code of Conduct 1-9 to post the same problem in more than one post.

UFCoC 1-9 (in part):

Please do not cross post, or post the same thing in multiple locations.

As a tip .. do not expect ANYTHING Microsoft to look good in ANY build of Linux. Or in any browser other than Internet Explorer.
Not unless you using FireFox and install UserAgent and emulate IE that way. Still NOT 100%, but IF you think Microsoft gives a damn, you are mistaken. They want you to use THEIR programs on THEIR sites .. and why should they make it easy for other systems? (since it is their site, they can do as they wish!)

Hi oldsoundguy,

yeah you're right. But the point here is after installing and uninstalling KDE framework (k3b with all the files needed, because Brasero is the worst burning software in the world, period)some websites look HORRIBLE.

I would be very happy to solve this :(

Luckily I had a not-too-old backup I made 3 weeks ago with FSArchiver, included in SysRescueCD (http://www.sysresccd.org/Download) (an awesome Gentoo based disaster recovery oriented distribution). Now everything works fine again and I'm updating the system normally.

I'm very sad with what happened to me with KDE. I would love to share applications but seems I will stay long away from KDE for a long time.

Best and thank you everybody for trying to help
