Network Printing on a Canon Pixma MX868

I'm eying to buy a Canon Pixma MX868 (http://www.canon.com.sg/p/EN/2-Inkjet-Printers/5-Business-All-In-One-with-fax/804-PIXMA-MX868/) printer. It scans, prints and faxes and connects via LAN or WIFI.
I wonder if it would work with my Ubuntu 9.04 installation (upgrading to a later version is an option, just didn't have time yet)?
I see 3 questions:
- Printing via LAN (I guess there is something like a Cups server on the device -- or worse some propriatry stuff)
- Would scanning work
- Would faxing work

Clarification: I'm open to other printer suggestions. I need to have one with decent scan capabilities (sheet feeder, double side scan) since I'm getting rid of tons of paper. I like individual ink tanks. Fax isn't important.
