hi everyone,
I've just installed ubuntu 9.04 x64 on my new acer aspire 5810TZ alongside the native windows 7 OS on an other disk partition...
Everything work fine until a decided to install the proprietary drivers for the ATI radeon HD 4330 video card. Now, when I reboot grub loads ubuntu, I get the splash screen for a little while the a blank screen(see attachment generated with GIMP, not a screenshot) with two dashes at the top... I'm sure the problem is related to the graphic card driver as I can log in to ubuntu without GNOME (ie. in safe mode from GRUB). Has anyone had a similar problem and resolved without getting rid of the ATI driver??

Any help would be appreciated!!

P.S. Sorry if this has already been resolved, I've not found the answer on the web yet...
