Hi all i am a new Ubuntu user and ex Gentoo user, this post is a small complain towards the people maintaining and developing Ubuntu, i used to be a Gentoo contributor or bug reporter, i found it really frustrating to find and understand information regarding Ubuntu development and bug reporting.
I found links with tons of reading, its ok to be so precise but helps little when you have limited time.
I know that you should be very demanding regarding development, but there should be a smaller HOWTO to understand the processes on the development of a Debian (Ubuntu package).
I finally managed to get a small hint after reading the following site:
http://doc.gwos.org/index.php/Deb_Guide
I do appreciate all the work done on the distribution but as a user of a more hardcore distro such as Gentoo i find it really wierd on dealing with such a chaotic documentation repository on such a simple and more user friendly distro.
This is not flame post just a small mention regarding everyday tasks ;)
