View Full Version : [ubuntu] Ati fglrx: Multi display and desktop background

Hi,

I'm currently working with a multi-display desktop configuration with the ati fglrx drivers. The desktop background that i choose is being stretched over both screens, which have a different size. The results are quite ugly. Does anyone know if there a way to choose different desktop backgrounds for both screens?

kind regards,

Bram

(i did think of putting the two backgrounds into one image file. If this is done in the right way both backgrounds will end up on their own screen. This is not an easy method for switching backgrounds though. I'm just hoping there is a more elegant way available.)

It's not really a critical issue i know but it'd be nice to know :)

Well dang. It seems like it ought to be possible. Anyone?

There is not a way that I know of. Linux is not very good with multi-display, plus the fglrx drivers are not very good. They get basic code out the window. I apologize for resurrecting the thread, but figured you should at least hear that there isn't another option.
