View Full Version : [ubuntu] Compiz Window Placement

January 21st, 2010, 05:45 AM
I have Compiz Advanced Desktop Effects, and have "Place Windows" enabled, and set to Smart. If I turn this off my windows like to open with their top 2/3 off the top left of my screen, which is pretty stupid.
But when its enabled, if I place a firefox window partially off the left of the desktop and then click on the menu bar to move it, it will jump fully to the next desktop to the left. So if I am on desktop #3 and a firefox window is split 10/90 between desktops 2 and 3, it will jump fully over to desktop #2 if I click on the title bar.
This is annoying when I try to space out my browsers to look at more than one at a time.
My question is, can I get it not to "place" windows that I simply click on like this, or can I get place windows to work on all windows except firefox.

The problem is the same on chrome.
