Hi,

My desktop runs windows too along with ubuntu and on windows I have my monitor's refresh rate set to 75Hz. On ubuntu 9.10 64 bit, I an not seeing anything except for 60Hz to select from. I am sure this can be done by some tweaking somewhere but I have no idea how to do it.

Can anyone suggest a solution or a place to search for the solution?

Thanks.

Look though /var/log/Xorg.0.log to see which modes X recognizes. You can experiment with other modes using xrandr in a terminal (see man xrandr). Although run from a terminal that only applies to current session (if you mess up you could log out/into X again). For more info and to automate a setting you find works see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config/Resolution
