I found a webcam lying around, i installed cheese, and it works.... but looks awful. Roommate had it set up on windows it pictures looked much better. Its just a small HP webcam (prob 1.3 MP), but pics should be better than they are. Max resolution is 352x288, pics are very dark, and barely has color. Any suggestions?

can you post the output of
lsusb so we can see what type of cam you are using.
