Apparently you've never seen a Coleman Francis film, or Manos: The Hands of Fate.

Oh man... I need to see this movie.

I like how they add on the box office returns at the end, because that's certainly relevant to a guy having a stroke.

Oh man... I need to see this movie.
I heard it is not that good. Nice effects, no story, good basis for a video game. I might rent it one DVD one day.

He had passes of high blood pressure and that increases the risk of getting a stroke
I don't plan to see the movie though

I heard it will look a bit different without those 3d effects. Especially since they filmed with 3d in mind.

The story is very basic, but the effects are truly amazing, especially in 3D. It's worth seeing on the big screen. Beware of the hype, though, it's just a movie.

Given the popularity of the movie, I'd be more surprised to see a headline saying "man dies while breathing"...

This can happen to anyone. Sometimes it's predictable but people with no history of heart disease have died from strokes even at young age.

I'll wait until it comes out on DVD.
Then you will basically see a CG version of Pocahontas, without the music.
Seriously, I liked Avatar, but 99% of its enjoyability and novelty comes from the 3D.

perhaps they will release the dvd with a red/blue polarized 3d version, like the one they got in some blu-ray disks.

meh, can't always listen to what everyone else says - negative reviews are enough to put anyone off. But it is cheaper to view it at home...
I saw it twice, and had intentions of seeing it a third in IMAX, but I've started second semester of year 2 at college; aka outta moneys for awhile...

The movie story is not bad. But the effects are amazing, too bad there is not 3D cinema in my city, so I've seen the 2D version.

Absolutely. It's basically Dances With Wolves, but with the Indians spraypainted blue. It's not an original story, but it's not a bad one either.
Anyone who waits and watches it on a small screen is probably going to find it underwhelming. If you can spare the price of a movie ticket i'd say definitely see it in a cinema.

It will loose a lot in DVD format.

This reminds me of all the news stories of people dying while watching Passion of the Christ.
It's just media sensationalism at its finest.

I have to admit, it does look pretty lame in the trailers. Dying to avoid it is pretty extreme. I just usually go to the foyer and play the slotties.

Am not surprised, some poor dude had an Epilepsy attack at the Cinema I was watching the Movie. Probably all the effect and lights must have triggered the attack felt really sorry for him, he had to be stretched out of the Cinema :(

No doubt! People who enjoy books like "A game of thrones" would certainly find this movie bit tw@tty, story wise!

it might still work!
These new techniques are a lot better then the old red-green glasses.
My stronger eye dominates my sight, and I cant see those red-green 3D images/movies, but the new ones work very well for me.. eg the polarised glasses or the Hz thing (or whatever it is called)
try it!

People die all the time for all the possible reasons.
Avatar's an awesome movie, I agree though, it will lose some of it's awesomeness when it becomes 2D.
It's one of the very few movies I would watch twice.

Anyways, Avatar is a good movie. The story is pretty boring, but the effects and realism really impressed me.
People will die from the strangest things.

I would definitely recommend seeing Avatar while it's showing at the movies. Despite all the corn it's a really good movie.
I saw it in 2D and 3D and I actually preferred the 2D. The 3D tended to be blurry outside of the 3D effects. Maybe it was because I was sitting towards the front?

+2 for MST3k references
Also "Future War" deserves a mention, as it has absolutely no room for excuses. The filmmakers seriously thought that they could fake a live news team by building a cardboard camera with a real camera lens :D

Forget the future, it happened 400 years ago! See Pocohontas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pocohontas).
What I don't understand is that Hollywood clearly condemns intelligent design, but at the same time if evolution in the present actually manifests itself, they are against it too. What happened to survival of the fittest?
