I installed KDE 4.4 repositories in Ubuntu 9.10, with exact instructions. I have Ubuntu as dual boot with Windows Vista. I rebooted the computer after installation, and it will not now boot into Ubuntu. Please help. Suggestions?

What is happening? How far does it get? Do you get to the login screen?

no I did not get the login screen; I have reinstalled Ubuntu 9.10 and it is now working fine. Um...shall stay away from KDE downloading!

You installed KDE 4.4, which is still beta software and not yet intended for stable use. I am only mentioning it because I personally love KDE and consider it a great piece of software. Don't let this bad experience with the unstable development version turn you off to it permanently.
