View Full Version : Dell Canada paying google to have broken link as "sponsored"

I was searching around for someone that I could buy an Ubuntu laptop from in Canada. Luckily my Google search came back with a "sponsored link" to Dell Canada's Ubuntu page. Unfortunately, it's a broken link, and apparently has been for months.

(On an unrelated note, any Canadians here have a preferred Ubuntu/Linux laptop seller?)

Well, yes. But do you think that Google is getting paid for every click on that sponsored link? That kind of means that Dell is paying to have Google make them look like idiots.

I don't know, and I'll keep my opinion of google to myself.
I will say however that I never click on a sponsored link.

Even if he did, I think the problem is that one can at least tell that Ubuntu isn't a priority for Dell since they haven't even noticed this...
