View Full Version : [ubuntu] Compiz place windows on RIGHT monitor

So I have my laptop plugged into an external Dell 24" Monitor via HDMI. Last year I had a different room, and the monitor to the right of my laptop - this year my monitor is to the left.

I changed where it's located under "Display" and that's fine. I'm using XRandR and the radeon drivers.

What's bugging me, is that windows seem open on the left most monitor, regardless - I have tried setting options in Compiz "Place Windows" like "Under Pointer" etc etc, but I just can't get them to behave.

Sometimes they'll go under the pointer, and other times they'll be across on the other monitor. It wouldn't necessarily be so bad if the external Dell was right next to my laptop, but it's not, it's actually a couple of meters away behind me and to my left so I can watch movies from my bed.

Suggestions on forcing windows to open on the right (laptop) screen by default?
