Hi all,
I got the .deb of the google-desktop Linux version from their web-site and installed it. The installation finished without problems, I see the icon in the task bar and in the process list the gdl_fs_crawler (which I assume is doing the indexing).
However, I neither see the advertised "Desktop" option on the google home page (along with Web, Images, ...) nor (and that is even bothersome) can I access the Preferences.
Clicking on the GD icon and selecting "Preferences ..." doesn't result in anything. Opening the search window via CTRL-CTRL and clicking on the "preferences" there, also doesn't do anything.
Starting from CLI also doesn't help.
> /opt/google/desktop/bin/gdl_config
The program is already running.
What am I missing?
Thanks and cheers,
Riko
